Lazarillo de Tormes
The Life of Lazarillo de Tormes
Born in a mill on the river Tormes, sent out into the world with nothing but his wits, Lázaro serves a blind beggar, a miserly priest, and a proud gentleman without a penny. Every master teaches him a new way to stay alive. The first great Spanish picaresque, retold in clear modern Spanish from A2 to B1 — hungry, sly, and still very funny.
